PLUVIOPHILE – MONSOON

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Turn, Turn, Turn.”

Seasons change so quickly! Which one do you most look forward to? Which is your least favorite?

I don’t find mentions of my favorite season in the responses to today’s prompt. 😦

There are mentions about autumn, summer and spring. Autumn cause we are not yet in the freezing zone, its just the right amount of chill to chill. Summer cause its warm, a trip to the beach would be fun, a little bit of tan would do no harm. Spring cause life springs back into the dull nature.. and the world looks just more colorful.

Where is the monsoon? The cycle can’t be complete without monsoon. I don’t have anything against the other seasons but my favorite season is monsoon!

As mentioned in my blog before my name varsh-a in my mother tongue means rain 🙂 So there is no way i can’t love it.

From the cool breeze before the rain to the festoon of water droplets on the branches and leaves of the trees, I love everything about it. Its power to rejuvenate the dull, thirsty earth into a throbbing mass of life is wonderful.

I absolutely enjoy getting drenched in rain. Not the type of person who will carry an umbrella fearing the clouds to pour. I don’t give a damn about the dress, my belongings, not even my phone! Cause of this drenching love for rain i have damaged a plenty of watches of mine. Right now i don’t posses one and i have no intention of buying one cause its almost monsoon here. 😛 Oh and the taste of pakodas, jalebis and ice cream adds a lot of fun to it.

I have done almost all crazy things anyone can imagine doing in rain like.. jumping on muddy puddles barefoot, walking around barefoot on roads, – i don’t know how to explain this but you know rain gets collected along the side ends of the road and vehicles just zoom past you on the road and there is this sheet splash of water (almost like a mini wave) falling over you and you go like “What the hell?!” —- Psst readers.. Is there a word to explain this phenomena? 😛

The only thing i haven’t tried is playing football in grounds. Its like a thing on my bucket list. Why haven’t i done that yet.. well cause i don’t find people who fancy playing football in vision blurring rain. Plus grounds are not easy to find in my uber metro city. 😦

The only thing that puts me off during monsoon is the stench due to horrible conditions of drainage system. The open garbage dump areas, semi closed manholes, holes meaninglessly dug on roads and footpaths.

Any pluviophiles out there? 😉

Anyone having done even crazier stuff? 😛

FAVOURITES ?

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Five a Day.”

Todays prompt: You’ve being exiled to a private island, and your captors will only supply you with five foods. What do you pick?

You have been exiled to a private island and your captors are willing to supply you with five foods and you get to pick/choose them? not even ingredients.. FOODS! And – i am taking a wild guess – you think they will prepare the food and get it to you? Is this captivity or luxury?

I dont think i will have the mind to think and give out names of five foods that will keep me alive. I might as wel tell just give me anything good enough for human consumption or give me nothing.

Not the sort of person who has favourites .. It might seem weird / abnormal.. But i dont have favourites at all (period). I go with whatever is available. I feel awkward when people ask me what is your favourite dish? Who is your favourite actor/actress? Whats your favourite movie? Whats your favourite color? Whats your favourite flower? Whats your favourite ice cream flavour? Aghh..

This is how google describes favourite.. “preferred to all others of the same kind”

I may say , “i like this.. i like that..” but never to the extent to squeal, “ooh this is my absolute favourite!!” Apart from songs, singers, books and instances in life (in general), there don’t seem to be categories which have items labelled with favourites. I might not bother myself enough to label things as favourites.. i do register and note when people around me inform me about their favourites. I try to find a patterns which symbolise something as favourite.. What i have concluded is that it just makes you happy.. Is it important to categorise things as favourites and non favourites.. ?

I wonder how many of you are out there who think the same.. or if i am the only maniac with such crazy logistics. I hope i turn normal.. :/ 😦

JUST PLANNED MY ANTI-BUCKET LIST

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Kick the Bucket.”

Today’s Prompt  “What are the top items on your anti-bucket list — those things you never, ever want to do, places you never want to visit, books you never want to read, etc.? ”

Frankly speaking I was a bit taken aback by this. We spend so much time focusing on what we WANT to do rather than focusing on what we DON’T want to do. It took me a while to figure out what i wanted on my anti-bucket list. It made me realise what is important to me and the opposites of which we usually forget to have on our bucket lists taking it for granted.

Anti-Bucket list

1.Never want to wake up and find my family gone forever. Home alone is fun but not forever.

2.Never want to watch Twilight series again. (watched just the first one.. they just destroyed the Edward’s character man -_-)

3.Never want to be teleported into the past or future, lose my body parts in process.. No thank you.

4.Never want to get tooo rich.

5.Never want to be bitten or eaten by snake or shark or bear or tiger or chimpanzee or any carnivore. you have to trust me on this one .. i would never make a good meal.

6.Never say no to anyone who offers me a trip to Disneyland or bungee jumping or skydiving.

7.Never everever ever forget my username and passwords.

8.Never want to hear my thoughts out load when dragged into a conversation or party or a boring speechh or lecture.

This is all i can get out of my head right now. I don’t know about you guys but i never planned to have an ant-bucket list for real.

People run to safety!!

“The development of full artificial intelligence (AI) could spell the end of the human race.” So says Stephen Hawking.

Considering the fact that there exist supercomputers that are way smarter that quarter of the world population put together, designed to surpass human intelligence. We must realize that there is a potential risk of it posing as a serious survival question for humans. You might not enjoy this unless you have it on you bucket list to see this world turning into a Sci-Fi movie.

ON THE OTHER HAND

It seems ironic that a person so highly benefiting from AI vocalised such an opinion. Humans are curious to find out as to how they can pass on their intelligence onto a machine which may or may not transcend the intelligence we acquit it with. It is also worth mentioning that though we may program machines with rules and guidelines while they may perform strategical analysis as reflexes. It is unlikely that they would turn into armies with human qualities like Jealousy, greed, conceit , etc. all essential abilities needed to over-throne us in this human dominated world.

Or did Mr.Stephen’s new speech synthesis system just warn us of the impending war in future (Conspiracy!) !! (And look AI is already taking a toll on us leading to human crisis.)

AHHHH!! People run to safety!! I might as well add Sci-Fi movie turn real to my bucket list. We might as well ask for a man VS humanoid instead of Man VS Wild to be aired on TV for our survival. What say?
